New play equipment for the Governors' Field is closer, thanks to a £50,000 grant from funding body WREN.

The money, awarded by WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to buy a range of new play equipment for the Governors’ Field at the junction of Main Street and Lingwood Lane.

Ian Brown, the chairman of Woodborough GREAT (the association for parent volunteers set up and supported by Woodborough Parish Council to raise funds for this project), believes that the new facility will make a huge difference to the people of Woodborough. He says “This project will provide a real boost to the children, young teenagers and parents of Woodborough. It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us this money and we are really looking forward to seeing our new play facility taking shape over the next 6 months or so”.

Woodborough Parish Council - on behalf of the parish - pays tribute to the GREAT team for all of their hard work leading up to this "GREAT news". WPC has committed £30,000 towards the project.
