Services Provided
Woodborough
Parish Council seeks to provide those services which help to support a
vibrant rural village community.
There is a Village Hall, on Lingwood Lane, which
is used by a number of local organisations; Woodborough
Pre-school;
Indoor Bowls; Dance Classes; Youth Club; Badminton &
Tennis Clubs, Kick Boxing and Duke of Edinburgh
Scheme. The
village hall can also be booked for private functions,
parties, weddings, corporate functions and trade exhibitions; to check
availability and charges call the bookings
clerk on 0115 912 6524. Located
behind the village hall is the Playing Field and Sports Pavilion,
this is currently used by Woodborough Woods Foundation School, the
Cricket and Football teams, and is open to the General Public for their
use. The Parish Council also own the Tennis
Courts, which
are rented out to Woodborough Tennis Club, which has sole responsibility
for managing them. If you have any queries on this please contact

football and cricket clubs.
The
Parish Council manage the Governors' Field which is leased from
the Governors of Woodborough Woods Foundation School. 2002 saw the
provision of new playground equipment which has been widely welcomed in
the village, and the Field is now a focal point for many village events.
The Millennium Beacon situated on the Governors' Field is owned and
managed by Woodborough Community Association, who should be contacted
regarding this. The Parish
Council own and run the Cemetery at the top of Roe Hill, if you

Cllr. Richard Whincup.
Cllr. Kathryn Wiltshire is the Parish Council representative for the Public
Footpaths, and organises the annual Footpath Walk, normally held in
June. Please contact her if you have any queries.
The
Parish Council has elected Cllr. Paul
Hough to serve as its representative School
Governor for Woodborough Woods Foundation School.
The
Parish Council manage the allotments on Foxwood Lane on behalf of
Woodborough Charities who receive the rental income. If you would
like any information on this please contact
Cllr. Kathryn Wiltshire. The
Parish Council is responsible for appointing trustees to Woodborough Charities, for
further information please contact either the Chairman, Cllr. John Boot
or the Clerk.. The Parish
Council are invited to pass comments on all Planning Applications in
the Parish, although Gedling Borough Council is the local Planning
Authority and makes the final decisions. If you have any queries
regarding a Planning Application, then Gedling Borough Council should be
contacted in the first instance. If you wish to make your views
regarding any individual Planning Application known to the Parish
